Apple Pay
Overview
Apple Pay is Apple's digital wallet that allows customers to make online and in-store payments using payment cards stored in Apple Wallet. Instead of sharing actual card details during a transaction, Apple Pay uses tokenized payment credentials and device-based authentication to help protect customer information.
How Customers Pay with Apple Pay
Customers can complete payments without manually entering their card details by selecting a card stored in Apple Wallet and authenticating the transaction using Face ID, Touch ID, or their device passcode.
How Maya Processes Apple Pay Payments
Apple Pay is supported on select Maya payment products.
For Maya's online payment products that accept Apple Pay, Maya handles payment acceptance, processing, and settlement as the Payment Service Provider (PSP).
For Maya Terminals, transactions are processed as standard card payments through Maya and are settled to the merchant's existing settlement account.
The integration model and merchant responsibilities depend on the product being used.
Requirements
To accept Apple Pay payments, you must:
- Have an active Maya merchant with card (scheme) acceptance enabled.
